Their light tickled her.

When the mermaid climbed atop the rocks to come ashore, her aquamarine tail melted away turning her legs to pale orange. As a passing fisherman saw the lady and gave her clothing to cover her wet and naked body, she gazed up into the night’s sky and caught a glimpse of the stars shining. Their light tickled her with effervescent wonder as they illuminated her with vibrance below, casting shadows upon the mountain in the night’s sky as it showed. The colors of the rainbow sparkled in each and every star, making the hills behind her glow like they were filled with red and burning magma. But at that moment no worries could touch her supernatural divinity, for fear cannot constrain the magic that exists beyond the infinite realm that transcends the boundaries of our earth here.

And with that knowledge, the fear of mortal life and dying no longer troubled her restless heart. So in that vast expanse she settled into her human body, vowing to make it a vessel now to forever embrace love.
